About Bishop Rueben Job

Bishop Rueben Job is a retired bishop of the United Methodist Church and one of the outstanding leaders in spiritual formation within the church.  Bishop Job served as a bishop, as the world editor of the Upper Room and as associate general secretary of the board of discipleship -- as well as being a pastor, chaplain, district superintendent, and conference staff person.  He is the author of numerous books, including A Guide to Prayer for Ministers and Other Servants, A Guide to Spiritual Discernment, and Three Simple Rules.  Bishop Job serves as a member of the Center's Advisory Board.

"I am pleased to lend my name to a project with such great potential for good in the church and in the world.  Leadership has always been the key to a faithful, fruitful ministry.  To help to discover and to develop leadership is one of the greatest gifts any of us can give to the church.  The Center, under the direction of Doug Anderson, will be a powerful and positive influence for transformation in the conferences, jurisdiction and across the church."
