Leading the Team-Based Church

Leading and managing church "teams" such as staffs, governing boards, and committees can be the most stressful part of ministry. Using a theological model based on the Trinity, George Cladis presents several practical ways for developing and leading cohesive ministry teams in the church. In addition, Cladis has pastored growing churches that have broken through various attendance ceilings (200, 400 and 800 attendees).  Participants will leave with several new practical tools for developing spiritually strong, relational and effective ministry teams. They will also have information and specific strategies for "re-inventing" themselves to accommodate growing churches.  Cladis' material is relevant to both start-up and traditional churches; however, his experience has been primarily in the re-development of existing, traditional congregations in need of change and growth.

LEADER

George Cladis is the author of Jossey-Bass's best-selling book Leading the Team-Based Church, was pastor of Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien, Connecticut (the largest Presbyterian church in New England), and now pastors Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City, OK. He has conducted research for years on leading effective churches in the 21st century, particularly in a team format. Cladis is married to Martie Cladis. The couple has three children: Christopher 23, Katherine 21 and Nicholas 17. In addition to his family and church life, he enjoys kayaking, rollerblading and messing around with his 1960 Nash Metropolitan.
